From a marine sediment sample, we performed isolation and screening of bacterial strains in search of new bioactive compounds. High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry (ESI-MS) analysis indicated that a new bacterium, Lysinibacillus sp. CTST325, produced a new peptidic compound called lysinibacin.
