A proposal for the production, marketing and distribution of a dramatic television series "The devil's playground"

2015-06 Carlos, a washed-up dancer living in a crummy NYC apartment has been invited to audition in a casino in Mexico. His drunken wife Clarissa reluctantly comes along to avoid him going alone with their daughter Margarita who purposely forgets to pack Clarissa’s dancing shoes. They pass through LA and run into Chuckie Chalin, Clarissa’s old vaudeville flame who is shooting a film. He’s headed to the casino too and promises to meet Clarissa there. When the Verdugos cross the border a robbery ensues and once they arrive at the casino Carlos sends Margarita to get dancing shoes for Clarissa. The casino owners, known as the Barons talk to the police about the robbery on the casino’s money car in San Diego and the drought: They are worried it might deter guests from coming to the opening of their new grand race track. Clarissa finds Chuckie but he’s with a girlfriend and ignores her: Helga Trotter, a Hollywood columnist overhears them. With Clarissa lost, Carlos rehearses to audition with Margarita and strikes her for a faux pas. Mario, a lovestruck waiter witnesses this and alerts Connie the innkeeper. Clarissa steals Margarita’s shoes and the girl cries because she can’t audition without them. Connie gives Margarita her old dancing shoes. The Barons host the new Mexican President and ask him to handle border rebels that want the casino town to become dry U.S. territory as well as the rainmaker hired by the county to fight the drought. Clarissa unsuccessfully tries to get into the audition. Margarita is a hit with Chuckie and the President who wants her in return for his favors to the Barons. Chuckie gets upset and attempts to leave but his wife arrives to confront him about Helga’s column on him fathering Clarissa’s child. The Barons let Carlos know he’ll get the job if Margarita “pleases” the President. Glamorous guests attend the successful opening that ends with rain. Clarissa reveals the truth to Chalin and his wife. The rain turns into flood before the President can enjoy Margarita. Panicked guests flee. Margarita finds her mother’s headband in the water.
