Site Data from an Archaeological Evaluation at Watch House Green, Felsted, Uttlesford, Essex, April 2021

This collection comprises reports, images, site records, and CAD files from an archaeological evaluation. This was carried out by Colchester Archaeological Trust in April 2021, at Watch House Green, Felsted, Uttlesford, Essex, CM6 3EF. An archaeological evaluation (five trial-trenches) was carried out in advance of the construction of four new dwellings.The aim was to record the extent of any surviving archaeological deposits, and to assess the archaeological potential of the site to allow the ECCHEA to determine if further investigation is required. In total twelve cut features and a metalled surface were identified in this evaluation. The predominant phase of activity present was from the Roman period, except three ditches and post-hole that were post-medieval or later in date.
