Genome assembly and annotation of Xylariales sp.

We discovered large fruiting bodies of Xylariales fungi across three geographically distinct forest habitats, and collected one representative specimen from each habitat, which were designated as samples 2024 (HKAS148941), SJ507 (HKAS150823), and XT01(HKAS151626), respectively. For each of these three habitat-specific samples, we sequentially conducted genomic DNA extraction, Illumina high-throughput sequencing, de novo genome assembly, and comprehensive functional annotation of the generated sequencing datasets. The multi-sample genomic resources obtained from this study not only yield in-depth insights into the phylogenetic affinities and precise taxonomic delineation of the target Xylariales fungi, but also establish a robust foundation for subsequent comparative genomic analyses.
