Examining the microbiome and resistome of an urban freshwater ecosystem of Manitoba

The goal of this research is to generate biomarkers of water quality. Through an examination of the microbiome and resistome of the North End Sewage Treatment Plant in Winnipeg, Canada, we can generate a microbial fingerprint and potential aquatic health assays. The data generated with such tools from this data can be used to guide future policymaking in public health and civil engineering.
