Digital Archive from an Archaeological Excavation at Gateway 14 Area A, Mill Lane, Creeting St Peter, Suffolk, 2020

This collection consists of site images and GIS data from an archaeological excavation at Gateway 14 (Area A), Mill Lane, Creeting St Peter, Suffolk. Works were conducted by Cotswold Archaeology between July and August 2020. Two sizeable feature complexes were found in the excavation, both formed by intercutting pits, which might have been dug as clay quarries. Pottery and radiocarbon dating from the features dates their backfill to the Middle Iron Age. It is possible that these features were ultimately backfilled with domestic waste that originated from a known Iron Age settlement located a short distance to the north-west.
