Obesity is a multifactorial disease associated with oxidative stress and chronic inflammation and characterized by an excessive accumulation of fat in adipose tissue. Excessive H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2 </sub>levels are degraded by catalase, whose activity is decreased in obesity. We investigated the effects of inhibition of catalase activity by 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole (3-AT) on the metabolism and inflammation of human differentiated adipocytes.
