Survival Data PFS vs OS

Progression-Free Survival (PFS) is often employed as a surrogate endpoint for Overall Survival (OS) in oncology trials to expedite evaluation processes. However, its statistical validity as a surrogate remains context-dependent and poorly established in certain cancer types, including lung cancer. In this study, we propose a comprehensive statistical framework to assess the concordance between PFS and OS using a real-world clinical dataset of lung cancer patients from the Salah Azaiez Institute in Tunisia.
