Replication Data for: Fish-farmers' responses on developing climate information services for aquaculture in Bangladesh
Climate information services (CIS) are increasingly in demand to assist farmers in managing risks associated with climate variability and extremes experienced in food production systems. However, CIS research addressing food security have largely focused on land-based agriculture. Information about the specific needs for CIS in the aquaculture sector remains scarce. In response, there is a need for a deep understanding of the sensitivity of different aquaculture operations to specific climatic variables to ensure access to appropriate CIS enabling decision makers particularly the fish-farmers to adapt their decisions. Also, identification of climate sensitive aquaculture operations and portfolio adaptive decision are, therefore, prerequisite to the development of CIS for aquaculture. To reduce this gap and generate evidence, this study aims to produce information and knowledge for developing tailored decision support services for aquaculture farmers in Bangladesh. This study reports a valuable first step in collecting information on climate services need and preferences from the fish-farmers in Bangladesh to develop species-specific temperature and rainfall thresholds base climate services for South-Asian aquaculture system to ensure the sustainability of aquaculture production system.
