Gut microbiota dysregulation and serum lipid abnormalities in AD provide metabolic-neurobiology insights into pathogenesis

To investigate the changes in the intestinal microbiota of Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients and their association with serum lipid metabolites, and to gain a deeper understanding of the pathogenesis of AD from the perspective of metabolic neurobiology, this study analyzed the intestinal microbiota using 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Through linear discriminant analysis effect size (LDA) - applying the threshold of LDA score greater than 2.0 and a false discovery rate less than 0.05, as well as Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analysis, the differentially abundant genera were identified.
