数据包括两个图层：其中冻土分区图1:12,000,000，冻土分区包括continuous and discontinuous permafrost, insular and sparsely insular permafrost, sporadic permafrost, and seasonally frozen ground.(2)冻土类型图1:4,500,000，根据海拔高度、年平均气温、冻土深度、冻融深度、季节性冻土、季节性冻结深度划分为14个类型。

本数据集包含两类图层：其一为比例尺1:12,000,000的冻土分区图，其分区类型涵盖连续多年冻土（continuous permafrost）、不连续多年冻土（discontinuous permafrost）、岛状多年冻土（insular permafrost）、稀疏岛状多年冻土（sparsely insular permafrost）、零星多年冻土（sporadic permafrost）以及季节冻土（seasonally frozen ground）。其二为比例尺1:4,500,000的冻土类型图，该图依据海拔高度、年平均气温、冻土深度、冻融深度、季节性冻土及季节性冻结深度，划分为14种冻土类型。
