Survival, neonate counts, and water quality measurements in controlled exposures to long-term wildland fire retardants to Ceriodaphnia dubia

We investigated the survival and reproductive success of Ceriodaphnia dubia that were exposed to a concentration series of four current-use fire retardants (Phos-Chek 259-Fx Phos-Chek MVP-Fx, Phos-Chek LC95A-Fx, and Phos-Chek LC95A-R) to determine if exposure duration and concentration of the product altered the survival of C. dubia and the number of neonates produced by C. dubia. We recorded survival and the number of neonates produced each day over the course of seven days. We also recorded water quality metrics, including dissolved oxygen, temperature, specific conductance, pH, alkalinity, and total ammonia.
