资源简介:
Neurodegenerative disorders undeniably pose a growing public health concern, fueled by the rise in life expectancy and the prevalence of unhealthy lifestyles in modern society. Among these, Parkinson's Disease (PD) and Alzheimer's Disease (AD) stand out as the most significant and widespread. Advancing our understanding of the etiopathogenesis opens up novel therapeutic avenues aimed at enhancing the quality of life for affected individuals. Within this framework, constipation emerges as a prevalent complication, linked to a decline in cognitive functions and hastened clinical progression. It is hypothesized that dysautonomia contributes to gastrointestinal symptoms by impeding the function of the myenteric plexus, responsible for coordinating motility, enzyme secretion, nutrient absorption, blood flow, and inflammatory processes. The randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial investigates the efficacy of the K10 probiotic mix in alleviating bowel irregularities and improving fecal appearance in AD patients and PD patients using validated clinical scales.
