UASB reactors are technologies used in the treatment of domestic sewage in several parts of the world, however in temperate regions they are subject to strong seasonal influences. Understanding the biological processes that occur in these systems and the changes caused by environmental variables, such as temperature and precipitation, are fundamental to provide subsidies for project improvements and operational solutions.
