This data set contains Maize, Zea mays L. in South Africa and is the country`s most important field and grain crop. Objectives of the study was to simulate maize yields, and their inter-annual, at a spatial resolution of Quaternary Catchments for 12 different combinations of three plant dates, viz. 15 October, 15 November and 15 December. This was done to evaluate which hybrid lengths and plant dates give the highest yields irrespective of plant dates and hybrid lengths respectively and also which hybrid lengths and plant dates give the lowest coefficients of variation (%) irrespective of plant dates and hybrid lengths respectively.

本数据集涵盖南非境内的玉米(Zea mays L.),其为该国最重要的大田作物与粮食作物。本研究的目标为以第四纪流域(Quaternary Catchments)的空间分辨率,针对3个播种日期(即10月15日、11月15日与12月15日)的12种不同组合,模拟玉米产量及其年际变化。本研究开展此项模拟的目的在于,分别评估在不考虑播种日期与杂交品种生育期的前提下,何种杂交品种生育期与播种日期组合可实现最高产量;同时评估在不考虑播种日期与杂交品种生育期的前提下,何种组合可实现最低的变异系数(%)。
