Photograph of cranes on wharf used to load ships, ca.1920. To the right of the image, several large crane stations are visible near the edge of the water. Four metallic legs connecting to a circular platform can be seen on each crane station. A small, trapezoidal cabin is seen on the top of the platform. A small metallic rail encircles the platform's perimeter. The small cabin has three visible windows, and a large crane arm as attached to the top of the cabin. The crane arm extends to the left of the cabin and is composed of several metallic bars. At its end, the arm contains a pulley and wire attached to a large metallic hook. To the left, a large building with arched windows and a several doors along its side sits below the arms of the cranes. In the background, several more of these stations are visible.
