Data and code for "Hydroclimatic non-equivalence among major El Niño events along the Peruvian Pacific drainage: implications for historical-analogue transferability"

Reproducibility package accompanying the manuscript “Hydroclimatic non-equivalence among major El Niño events along the Peruvian Pacific drainage: implications for historical-analogue transferability”. The study evaluates whether hydroclimatic similarity among the canonical 1982–83 and 1997–98 El Niño events and the predominantly coastal 2016–17 event corresponds to transferable extreme-streamflow responses across 11 gauged catchments along the Peruvian Pacific drainage. The archive contains processed analytical inputs, six R scripts, documentation, supplementary Tables S1–S6, and supplementary Figures S1–S6. The retrospective leave-one-event-out analysis comprises 23 evaluable gauge–event cases, and the sensitivity analysis evaluates 504 analogue configurations. September 2025–May 2026 observations are included separately as contemporary hydroclimatic context and are not treated as a completed historical event. Original third-party source datasets are not redistributed; provenance and access information are provided in the archive documentation.
