Starvation of Macrothrix in cladocera

Parthenogenetic Macrothrix was clonned and cultured in the laboratory. Survivorship curve for cohorts were estimated in presence and in absence of food. Guts was dissected from the starved individuals of cohort and bacterial strains in gut were analysed following metagenomic approach. Thus bacterial communitysequenced represent the Gut microbiome.
