Continuous monitoring of clones or lineages of multiresistant nosocomial pathogens is a tool that allows designing strategies to control its spread. The ST15 clone of K.pneumoniae constituted the main lineage (52%) of OXA-48 isolates in 2014-15 in Andalusia. Recently, isolates of this clone producing VIM-1 and CTX-M-15 have been detected in several hospitals in our region. The objective of this study was to characterize the isolates of K. pneumoniae ST15/VIM-1+CTX-M-15 sent to the Regional Reference Laboratory (PIRASOA) and compare them with the to determine if we are facing a single event or several events of acquisition of this carbapenemase.
