In the proposed research, eucalyptus, macadamia and municipal green waste will be utilized to produce biochar for animal feed additives and compost/soil application. During the manufacturing process, biochar will be produced through variation in temperature, duration of pyrolysis, feedstocks and different options for fluid bed materials and the process is optimised for the production of biochar for its intended use. After the optimization of production process, there will be mass production in biochar in the fluid bed continuous fed pyrolysis reactor located at Mara Seeds, New South Wales. The biochar analysis and characterization of the products will be performed in the Mara Seeds Lab in Mallanganee, CQU laboratory in Rockhampton and UNSW Material chemistry laboratory in Sydney.
本研究拟采用桉木、澳洲坚果壳及城市绿色废弃物为原料,制备可用于动物饲料添加剂与堆肥/土壤施用的生物炭(biochar)。制备过程中,通过调控热解温度、热解时长、原料种类以及流化床物料的不同选型合成生物炭,并针对目标应用场景对该生产工艺进行优化。完成生产工艺优化后,将依托位于新南威尔士州马拉种子(Mara Seeds)工厂的流化床连续进料热解反应器开展生物炭的规模化量产。产物生物炭的分析与表征工作将分别在马兰加尼的马拉种子实验室、罗克汉普顿的中央昆士兰大学(CQU)实验室以及悉尼的新南威尔士大学(UNSW)材料化学实验室开展。
