The goal of this study is to assess for the first time, the characterization of the bacterial communities that are present in the Acquarossa river, particularly focusing on the structuring of red and black epilithic biofilms, trying to highlight the putative reasons why the two biofilms newer intermix with each other, though they are in contact.
