The Mountains of Lake Nyasa, Scotland, [s.d.]

"The Mountains of Lake Nyasa, Laws of Livingstonia” Photograph of Lake Nyasa, one of the African Great Lakes. Mountains can be seen on the far shore of the lake. Lake Nyasa is located between Malawi, Tanzania and Mozambique.; This belongs to a series of Church of Scotland Foreign Missions Committee lantern slides relating to Dr Robert Laws (1851-1934) the Scottish Missionary. In 1875, inspired by David Livingstone (1813-1873), Laws travelled to Malawi and was involved in the foundation of the mission station of Livingstonia on the shores of Lake Nyasa. During the succeeding 50 years he also established a network of hundreds of schools. In 1908 Laws was elected moderator of the General Assembly of the United Free Church of Scotland.
