Food Analytics and Food Trends Data in Web Recipes

For the purposes of food marketing and food analytics Edamam tracks trending ingredients and combination of ingredients from across the English language recipe web. We detect early food trends to help grocery retailers, food manufacturers, and food service companies understand what foods will become popular.

The food analytics dataset Edamam provides includes top 20 most trending foods for the last 6 months together with information for their trend data for the last 6 months. The recipe population observed includes over 1000 websites and 300,000 recipes updated monthly.

The data also includes information about the top 20 food combinations for each of the trending foods. They represent the top co-occurrences of the trending food with other foods in the recipes observed.

Edamam can provide via Snowflake additional data upon request:

- Trending information for 2,500 foods and their co-occurrences
- Data about cuisines, meal type and dish type distribution of the recipes and the foods observed
- Data about the recipes where the foods were observed and the foods observed in each recipe
