Human Bodies in the Wild (HBW)

Human Body in the Wild (HBW) is a validation and test set for body shape estimation. It comprises images captured from wild environments and ground-truth 3D human scans aligned with the SMPL-X topology. To construct HBW, we collected body scans from 35 participants and registered the SMPL-X model to these scans. Furthermore, each participant posed in various outfits and postures in front of a white background for studio photography, and also uploaded their full-body photos taken in real-world wild settings. Both validation and test set images are publicly released. Only the ground-truth body shapes for the validation set are made available.

Validation Set (images and body scans released):
- 10 subjects / body scans (6 female, 4 male)
- 781 images (432 female, 349 male)

Test Set (only images released):
- 25 subjects / body scans (14 female, 11 male)
- 1762 images (983 female, 779 male)
