This dataset is a global surface evapotranspiration product based on the PEW model. The PEW model is a water-energy balance evapotranspiration model developed based on the proportionality hypothesis, with its full name being the Proportionality hypothesis-based surface Energy-Water balance model. Its core principle is to couple the water-heat balance framework constructed based on the proportionality hypothesis with the Priestley-Taylor (PT) evapotranspiration algorithm. The PEW model can simultaneously consider both water balance constraints and energy budget processes, thereby enhancing the simulation accuracy to a certain extent compared with prior models. The input data of the PEW model includes meteorological data and soil moisture variation data sourced from the ERA5-land dataset. This dataset spans from 1982 to 2018, with evapotranspiration values measured in mm/month, a monthly temporal resolution, and a spatial resolution of 0.1 degrees. This dataset provides fundamental data support for research on long-term water cycles and climate change.
