Gut microbiology in patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the oesophagus

The esophagus is a crucial component of the human digestive system. Research indicates that the development of esophageal adenocarcinoma is strongly linked to the imbalance of the intestinal microbiota. However, there has been limited investigation into the alterations in the intestinal flora of individuals with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and their impact on the invasion and spread of esophageal cancer. This study aims to investigate the composition of the intestinal flora in patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and its involvement in the underlying mechanisms.
