The goal of this study is to investigate the genetic diversity and population structure of Trypanosoma cruzi, the causative agent of Chagas disease, within triatomine insect vectors in the southern United States. By applying a multilocus metabarcoding approach using next-generation sequencing, this research aims to improve the resolution of DTU (Discrete Typing Unit) identification and uncover patterns of genetic variation across geographic regions and vector species
