On the 05 September 2023, at 20:00, massive floods are reported to have affected Burgas province, Bulgaria. A state of emergency is declared and media reported 130 people evacuated and 4 casualties. Images show camping trailers and cars in the sea after being washed away by swollen rivers. Bungalows and hotels along the Black Sea coast are flooded. The main road Tsarevo - Sinemoretz is closed. Copernicus EMS Rapid Mapping is requested to provide initial rough estimation, flood extent and damage assessment emergency mapping.
