Biogeography of restinga vegetation in Northern and Northeastern Brazil and their floristic relationships with adjacent ecosystems

Supplementary material to the article "Biogeography of restinga vegetation in Northern and Northeastern Brazil and their floristic relationships with adjacent ecosystems", published in the journal Annals of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences<b> </b>(AABC).This digital supplement brings a database of several floristic surveys in coastal sandbanks in the Northern and Northeastern regions of Brazil, as well as other surveys of flora in phytogeographic domains in Brazil (Amazonia, Caatinga, Cerrado and Atlantic Forest). Multivariate analyzes were performed comparing these areas (UPGMA and NMDS). As a result, we observed that all restinga areas in the Northern and Northeastern coast of Brazil were grouped into a single group (B), separated from the other phytogeographic domains (except for some areas of the Atlantic Forest that entered this group), indicating that they have their own peculiarities floristic and physiognomic. In general, restingas are areas that commonly receive simplistic classifications. Our work demonstrates that these ecosystems are extremely complex, deserving more specific classifications according to their location along the Brazilian coast.We provide here some important files resulting from the study.
