Sea Ice dataset for the NIMBUS-6 Scanning Microwave Spectrometer (SCAMS) data from 1975 and 1976, version 1.0
收藏资源简介:
The Scanning Microwave Spectrometer (SCAMS) instrument onboard the NIMBUS-6 satellite measured brigthness temperatures (TBs) at 5 different frequencies between June 15, 1975 and June 1, 1976. The TBs from the lowest two channels, centered at frequencies 22.235 and 31.65 GHz, have been used to calculate sea ice concentration and sea ice type for both hemispheres. The dataset is here uploaded as two compressed tar files, one for each hemisphere (Northern Hemisphere (NH) and Southern Hemisphere (SH)). Each tar file contains daily netCDF files for the days, where a sea ice retrieval was possible from the SCAMS data. The original SCAMS data is available through NASA's Open Data Portal (SCAMSN6L2 at GES DISC): https://data.nasa.gov/dataset/SCAMS-Nimbus-6-Level-2-Water-Vapor-and-Temperature/8y9b-mkwa/about_data
