Wells that reach the top of the Knox Unconformity in Ohio

Initially the DDF2 database only contained Knox wells in eastern Ohio developed for the DOE-funded Rose Run investigation completed in 1993. In 1999 the database area of coverage was expanded from eastern Ohio to include the entire state. In this latest version, the DDF2 database was updated using Ohio Division of Oil and Gas records in the Risk Based Data Management System (RBDMS). Unfortunately, many of the older historical wells, particularly in northwest Ohio do not have information available in RBDMS at this time. This DDF2 dataset is updated through July 2009 and contains information from 5,381 Knox or deeper wells in Ohio. Of this number, 871 wells have stratigraphic tops in the database interpreted from geophysical logs. In addition to the stratigraphic tops, this database contains header information for wells in Ohio that were drilled to at least the top of the Knox Dolomite. Data Update Frequency: As Needed.
