Controlled environment agriculture (CEA) systems offer protection from external contaminants but also present unique produce safety challenges. Cleaning and sanitation practices for harvesting equipment are often inconsistent, creating potential food safety risks. This study investigated potential Listeria monocytogenes harborage sites in a commercial soil-based CEA facility using an environmental monitoring (EM) plan over one year.
