Datasets for the 2021 registrations of passenger cars in the EU and Australia

The European and Australian datasets, PV_fleet_2021_EU_PYCSIS.xlsx and PV_fleet_2021_AUS_PYCSIS.xlsx, respectively, contain detailed technical characteristics, (OEM-declared and simulated) certified CO2 emission values and electric energy consumption, and (simulated) real-world performance of the most representative passenger cars models sold in the EU and Australia in 2021.
Representative models for all powertrain are included (conventionals, HEVs, PHEVs, BEVs) together with sales numbers for 2021.
The methodology for the production of this dataset, the representativeness and the validation are presented in the "A comparative analysis of car fleet efficiency evolution in Europe and Australia insights on policy influence".
Having these datasets as reference registered fleets of passenger cars for the period 2021-2025, the study applies scenarios for the increase of zero emission vehicles required to meet the targets set in both regions for the periods 2025-2029 and 2030 to 2034.
The detail of these datasets allows for qualitative and quantitave comparisons between the two regions, and for detailed vehicle simulations.
