Genomes of Cardinium strains from different Encarsia wasps

This project determined the genome sequences of four different Cardinium hertigii strains from different Encarsia wasps to analyze adaptation mechanisms of these bacteria to their Encarsia hosts. Cardinium hertigii are obligate intracellular bacteria infecting many arthropods. Some Cardinium strains have been shown to be able to manipulate the reproduction of their arthropod hosts.
