Bikeway Traffic Calming

This layer shows locations of various traffic calming elements on neighborhood bikeways to support the work of DOTI’s bike and pedestrian planning team. Traffic calming elements are physical design elements that improve road safety for all users. This data set maps traffic calming elements including traffic circles, diverters, pedestrian refuges, curb extensions, speed cushions, chicanes, and pinchpoints. It also includes details such as the material of the traffic calming treatment, the intersection control, and crosswalk legs.Neighborhood bikeways are low-speed streets with relatively few cars. They are designed to prioritize people who are biking, walking, or rolling.
