Properties of reaction wood and calibration of growth stress indicator

This dataset is associated with a pre-print deposited on HAL opensource plateform (https://hal.archives-ouvertes.fr/hal-02984734) and submitted to the PCI Forest and Wood Sciences (https://forestwoodsci.peercommunityin.org/). It contains: (1) mechanical and physical data obtained on 17 inclined trees coming from 15 different species (13 different families), tropical or temperate, hardwoods or softwoods, including  peripheral residual strains measured in situ before felling on 8 position for each stem; (2) the calculation of the conversion factor needed to relate the "growth stress indicator" measured by the single-hole method to the peripheral growth strain or growth stress along the grain; (3) data from the Wood Handbook (Wood as an engineering material. General Technical Report FPL-GTR-190. USDA, Forest Service, Forest Products Laboratory) used to related properties of green and dry wood.
