VPRS 10031 Central Correspondence Files

This series comprises correspondence files containing incoming correspondence and copies of outward correspondence.The correspondence covers a wide range of topics relating to issues at the Mine and in the town of Wonthaggi itself. Much of the material relates to the ongoing relationship between the Mine and its parent agencies of the Department of Mines (VA 612) 1909 - 1911, Victorian Railways Commission (VA 2876) 1911- 1934, (VA 673), Department of Transport ( known as Ministry of Transport 1951-1992).Much of this series of records is concerned with personnel issues, in particular the administration of workers compensation claims for those injured whilst working at the Mine.
