资源简介:
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) poses an ever-increasing threat to human health. Pseudomonas aeruginosa, represents one of the biggest concerns due to the rapid emergence of multi-drug resistance (MDR). To address this issue, we undertook whole-genome sequencing of 87 clinical MDR P. aeruginosa strains from Queensland, Australia and used the Antibiotic Resistance Detection and Prediction (ARDaP) software to predict AMR phenotype from genotype. The samples were obtained from any one of the following: i) patients with cystic fibrosis, ii) patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or iii) patients with bloodstream infections. Our work makes a valuable contribution to the understanding of the complex molecular mechanisms underpinning AMR in P. aeruginosa - which will be crucial for improved AMR detection and antimicrobial stewardship.
