Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais (Cemig) was the leading electricity distribution company in Brazil in 2022, based on consumption, at nearly 57 terawatt-hours. ENEL Distribuição São Paulo (formerly AES Eletropaulo) ranked second, with an electricity consumption of over 41 terawatt-hours. Combined, the top ten electricity distribution companies in Brazil accounted for roughly 57 percent of the national total.
