The reads originate from Asparagopsis taxiformis tetrasporophytes and the microbiome associated with them. These tetrasporophytes were cultured for seven days at five different stocking densities including 0.18g/L, 0.25g/L, 0.5g/L, 1g/L, and 5g/L in seawater that contained Asparagopsis taxiformis exudates (hereafter 'conditioned' seawater) accumulated following a 7-day culture at 0.5g/L stocking density.
