In the first quarter of 2023, income sentiment of Chinese depositors had an index value of 50.7. In the years 2018 and 2019, the income of urban depositors had increased on average as the index value exceeded 50 percent in all quarters. However, the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020 had a strong negative impact on incomes.
