Raw sequence reads from buccal swab samples from dairy cows during a rapidly fermentable carbohydrate challenge

Nine dairy cows were subjected to increasing amounts of rapidly fermentable carbohydrates in the diet to induce decreases in rumen pH and milk fat depression. By comparison of specific 18-carbon fatty acid proportions with bacterial community, this study aimed to gain more insight in the microbiology of the trans-11 to trans-10 shift in the rumen, which is associated with dietary induced milk fat depression.
