Comparative Transcriptomic Analysis of Shinkaia crosnieri Pre- and Post-Parasitism by the Pleurocryptella fimbriata

This project investigates the molecular changes occurring in three key tissues of the deep-sea crab species, Shinkaia crosnieri, found in the cold seeps of the South China Sea, before and after parasitism by the endoparasitic worm Pleurocryptella fimbriata. The tissues under examination include muscle, hepatopancreas, and gills. By comparing the transcriptomes of these tissues in their pre- and post-parasitic states, we aim to elucidate the tissue-specific responses to parasitism and identify key genes and pathways involved.
