The Impossibility of Mass-Free Gravitational Amplification

This paper presents a compact impossibility theorem for gravitational amplification. Under the standard assumptions of Newtonian gravity and Einstein’s General Relativity with their deterministic and unique field equations, local conservation of stress–energy, reasonable energy conditions, fixed boundary/initial data, and no additional long-range fields. It is proven that no reproducible “mass-free” gravitational amplification can occur. In plain terms: within all physics tested and established as of 2025, gravity cannot be amplified, shielded, or manipulated without adding mass–energy or altering boundary conditions. The theorem establishes a rigorous boundary of known physics and provides a clear framework for evaluating extraordinary claims. Any future proposal for “gravity machines” or “antigravity” must explicitly identify which assumption fails and supply supporting evidence. The result is a conditional no-go theorem: impossible under established physics, and immediately falsifiable if new physics is discovered.
