Collecting RNA-Seq data of spore, stalk, and vegetative cells from a social amoeba Polysphondylium violaceum

We isolated three major cell types, spore, stalk and vegetative cells, from a social amoeba Polysphondylium violaceum. Then we harvested mRNA from the isolated cell populations and prepared the cDNA libraries using Illumina Truseq Stranded mRNA library prep kit. Using these libraries, 75-bp paired end reads were sequenced with the Illumina NextSeq500 platform. The sequenced reads were further used to support prediction of gene models on the P. violaceum genome.
