Volume of livestock products in Maharashtra India 2017, by type

The south-western state of Maharashtra produced over one million metric tons of milk within the livestock products sector in fiscal year 2017. In comparison, the state produced 621 thousand metric tons of fish, indicating a higher preference for meat. In addition, over 5.4 billion eggs were produced in the state in the same time period. India's meat production amounted to over 165 million metric tons during the measured time period.
