Intellectual Property Risks of Retracted Science : A Threat Classification of Misconduct- Driven Retractions in Indian Publicly Funded Research

This dataset comprises 406 retracted Scopus-indexed publications (2001–2025) funded by major Indian science agencies (DST, CSIR, DBT, ICMR, and ICAR). Of these, 29 retracted papers (7.1%) were subsequently cited in 81 global patents. The dataset includes patent citation metadata and an IP Threat Classification (HIGH/MODERATE/LOW/UNVERIFIED) assigned to each citing instance based on retraction reason severity, supporting scientometric and patent citation analysis of retracted research with downstream technological impact.
