Gut Microbiome and Antibiotic Resistance Genes (ARGs) in Wild and Cultured Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis Niloticus) of Bangladesh

The current study examines the gut microbiome of tilapia collected from different culture and wild environments. In addition, antibiotic resistance genes (19 ARGs) were tested to uncapped the resistance scenario in tilapia production of Bangladesh. Twenty-one samples were collected from seven sites of tilapia production in Bangladesh including Panchagarh (pond polyculture of tilapia), Rangamati (wild, Kaptai lake), BCSIR Dhaka (RAS culture), Chandpur (wild, cage culture in river), Noakhali (pond monoculture of tilapia), Khulna (brackish water gher culture), and Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka (biofloc culture).
