The digital modeling of Tianjin Marco Polo Plaza’s VR scene prioritizes accurate historical reproduction and immersive spatial experience, constructing a virtual space integrating historical authenticity and interactive exploration.To this end, the research team adopted a full-process technical framework: preliminary data preparation, multi-software collaborative modeling, and detailed optimization. A trinity mode of SketchUp, 3ds Max and Unity was applied: leveraging SketchUp’s efficiency, preliminary modeling of the plaza’s overall layout and the "core-transition-peripheral" three-level spatial hierarchy was completed based on photogrammetric data and historical documents (old maps, architectural drawings, etc.); the basic model was then imported into 3ds Max for refinement, including detailed building component carving, initial material definition and landscape element implantation; finally, the optimized high-precision model was imported into Unity for interactive logic construction, lighting system configuration and physical engine debugging, forming a complete VR scene model. This process covers all key links from spatial planning and framework construction to detail processing and interactive integration.Spatially, the core area centers on the Statue of Peace with a symmetrical radial layout, restoring the plaza’s historical core activity zone; the transition area focuses on replicating the iconic "three-section facade" of Italian architecture, highlighting the Renaissance style through accurate proportion and decorative detail reproduction of columns, cornices and pedestals; the peripheral area achieves natural transition from historical to modern styles via building height gradient control and material contrast (historical: stone, red brick; modern: glass, steel structure), avoiding abrupt spatial style breaks.The model accurately replicates the plaza’s core elements: Statue of Peace, radial road network and pavement materials, European-style buildings, and historic-practical public leisure facilities.
