An ice-like T4(2)6(2) water tape was self-assembled in a novel proton-transfer salt, (enH2)3[Zn(AEDP)2]·6H2O(1), which
bonds to the salt host via hydrogen bonds. Thermogravimetry analysis shows that the water tape can change to tetramer water clusters by
heating at 100 °C, which are completely removed at 200 °C. Interestingly, the dehydrated complex can be regenerated in water vapor.
